Unilever to Develop Sustainable Leadership at its New Green Space in Singapore - Jul 7, 2013
(3BL Media/Justmeans) Four Acres Singapore, the sprawling new leadership center launched by Unilever (NYSE: UN), is the company's first center outside of Britain to groom the business leaders of tomorrow. The facility is spread over 2.3 hectares and created at a cost of 50 million Euros. The investment is an indicator of Unilever's commitment to the markets in Singapore and the rest of Asia, which already account for more than half of the company's global revenues.
The new center is a part of Unilever's strategy to double the size of its business while reducing the environmental footprint by half and enhancing its positive social impact. Four Acres Singapore is dedicated to developing future leaders in the company who understand the need for and have knowledge in sustainability in the emerging markets.
Four Acres Singapore has been planned on similar lines as Four Acres London, which house talented individuals and trains them to attain top leadership in the company. The company's goal is to make the future leaders more sensitive to the environment and to the high growth emerging markets at the new facility in Singapore.
The academic programs at the campus have been developed with the help of premier global institutions such as the Harvard Business School, Singapore Management University and INSEAD. More than 50 percent of all the leadership development programs at Unilever will be conducted the new corporate university. The facility will be able to increase the training capacity at the company to 2,800 people a year across both of its campus locations.
The new campus in Singapore includes an amphitheater and traditional Singaporean bungalows in black and white for on-site accommodations. Leadership development at Four Acres will provide the opportunity to take leadership development to an entirely new level.
