On
Tuesday, August 28th SEI will live webcast a seminar with Michel Jarraud,
Secretary General of the World Meteorological Organization.
As a specialized agency of the United Nations, WMO is the UN system's
authoritative voice on the state and behaviour of the Earth's atmosphere, its
interaction with the oceans, the climate it produces and the resulting
distribution of water resources. Mr Jarraud will present on the WMO future
perspectives with special emphasis on the Global Framework for Climate
Services.
Following this presentation and short Q&A session, SEI Senior Research
Fellow Richard
Klein will present on climate adaptation and vulnerability and SEI
Senior Scientist Marisa Escobar will
present on how to understand the effects of climate variability on food
security and livelihoods in Latin America.
