The I Sustainable Construction and Building Conference of the Basque Country announced - 11 July, 2012.
The first Sustainable Construction and Building Conference will be held at the Bilbao Exhibition Center (BEC) on 5 October, thanks to the backing of the Basque Government's Departments for the Environment, Industry and Housing, Ihobe, the environment management corporation, Sprilur and Eraikune, the Basque Building Cluster.
This new forum seeks to disseminate the latest
trends in sustainable construction and is aimed at professionals involved in
the process to construct or refurbish buildings and at technicians, along with
representatives of the academic and public sectors.
The Sustainable Construction and Building Conference
is the first of its kind to be held in the Basque Country. It will be an
opportunity to analyse the cutting-edge global trends in the construction
process and will highlight the latest academic, institutional and business
initiatives of the BAC. The conference will be run parallel to Construlan 2012 – the
Building, Equipment and Installations Trade Fair organised by the BEC.
The conference will be divided into two sessions,
one in the morning and the other in the evening. The morning session will be
divided into two main blocks. One will tackle the Basque, Spanish and
European framework, new legislation and future market trends, while the other
will consider the market certifications and recognitions for sustainable
refurbishing and building.
Following on from the morning plenary sessions, four
parallel sessions will be held in the evening to discuss the relationship of
the building with its environment, the design of the building and
sustainability, sustainable refurbishing, along with the materials and
technologies for sustainable construction.
Furthermore, the Sustainable Construction and
Building Conference will also feature an exhibition area within Construlan 2012
to showcase the latest innovations regarding construction materials,
regulations, testing, research, etc.
Delegates to the conference are required to register
beforehand through the Ihobe website. The delegates to the Sustainable
Construction and Building Conference will have free access to Construlan.

Construlan 2012, the Construction, Equipment and
Installations, Renovation and Sustainable Construction Trade Fair, will be held
at Bilbao Exhibition Center (BEC) from 3 to 6
October 2012. It will bring together the professionals of the sector who
want to showcase or learn about the most innovative aspects of the
sector. Products will therefore be exhibited and conferences, seminars
and activities related to this sector organised.
